CAMERA SONY RX

The Sony RX series is a range of high-end, expert-oriented cameras of compact type, bridge and action-cam; created by Sony in 2012.

Presentation

This series of high-end devices is intended for an audience of savvy photographers, passionate or professional. The range is introduced in 2012 by the RX100 which is the most accessible model of the range, proposed at 600 € at its launch. The RX1 appears a few months later: reserved for professionals, it is launched at € 3,200. A year later, the RX10 comes out at a price of € 1,300. All cameras are equipped with Carl Zeiss optics, which in the past has already developed many lenses for the SLRs and hybrids in the Alpha range. The RX series is globally a critical and commercial success. Thus, the compact RX100 experts have placed Sony at the top of sales in this segment in two years, while the brand was absent from this market1; and the RX100 was named as one of the 2012 Best Inventions of 2012 by Time2.

In the fall of 2017, the range is completed by an action-cam, the RX0 marketed at 850 € 3.

RX0

The RX0 is an action-cam equipped with a 15.3 megapixel Exmor RS CMOS sensor. It is equipped with Zeiss optics and the Bionz X processor. It films in 4K and offers slow motion up to 1000 fps. In photography, the burst rises to 16 fps with a shutter speed that can go down to 1/32000 of a second. It is presented on August 31, 2017 for commercialization in October of the same year at a price of € 850 3.

RX1

The RX1 was released at the end of 2012. This is an expert compact equipped with a 24 megapixel full-format sensor (especially used by the Alpha 99), whose sensitivity ranges from 100 to 25 600 ISO. The lens has a fixed focal length of 35 mm and an aperture of f / 2. The device has a 7.5 cm diagonal screen and a definition of 1229,000 points4.

RX1R

Released during the summer of 2013, it is a derivative version of the RX1 without low-pass filter, as a full-format hybrid of the brand, the Alpha 7R5.

RX1R II

Announced on October 14, 2015, this model incorporates an electronic viewfinder and improved autofocus from the Alpha 7R II, the definition of the sensor increases to 42.4 million pixels with optional low-pass filter in the menus6.
