CAMERA SONY ALPHA 7

The Sony Alpha 7 (α7 type) is a 24.3 megapixel, full-size, hybrid professional photographic camera equipped with the E-mount marketed by Sony in October 2013. It is the first compact interchangeable lens camera equipped with 35 mm format. It replaces the NEX-7 as a high-end semi-professional hybrid of Sony. Two more high-end versions exist, the α 7R, offering a 36.4 million pixel sensor without low-pass filter and the α 7S, which offers a sensor of 12.2 million, offering a very high sensitivity and a ability to shoot in 4K. His successor is α 7 II.
Presentation
The Sony Alpha 7 is unofficially presented in April 2013 by Sony, at a special event organized by the National Association of Broadcasters (NAB) in Las Vegas, in the form of a prototype resembling a small SLR1. It is officially presented on October 16, 20132. It is launched at € 1,500 naked and € 1,800 in kit with the 28-70 mm zoom, which makes it the cheapest full-format digital camera on the market and the first proposed under the bar of € 2,000 with a complete kit3,4.

Bearing the ILCE nomenclature, it introduces a new series of hybrid devices that is part of the policy of Sony, to refocus its range and abandon the name NEX5.

Design

An Alpha 7R with VG-C1EM grip and A mount adapter with integrated mirror and auto-focus.
The alpha 7 has a global shape close to the NEX-7, but larger and cubic, it is surmounted by a prominent electronic viewfinder and has more controls than the NEX6.

Like the RX series then the Alpha A5000 and 6000, it inherits the interface that Sony wants to extend to the entire range. It is in the form of vertical and horizontal drop-down lists, marked by the colors black, orange and white7.

Series 7 cameras have an additional grip (VG-C1EM) as for professional compact or semi-pro SLR cameras. It allows to include two batteries to double the autonomy but also to offer a more comfortable ergonomics in a vertical position8.

Technical characteristics
The Alpha 7 is equipped with the E mount which is identical to the NEX range, but as these lenses do not cover the full format, the camera automatically crags the sensor so that it takes the form of an APS-C sensor. The objectives adapted to the full format are distinguished by name "FE". The housing receives a 24.3 megapixel 35mm-format CMOS Exmor CMOS sensor with a sensitivity range of 50 to 25,600 ISO. The gust is 4.5 fps. The camera can shoot in 1080p at 50 fps. It uses the Bionz X microprocessor for image2 processing.
